My Longing Spirit

I am a spirit, not the mind that thinks within my head, not the heart that beats within my chest, not the blood that races throughout my veins. The cell that I compromise is merely a tool, one in which since the exile, I’ve grown less and less attached too. It’s become faded, much like the final brief remnants of mornings we all once knew, as they quickly flash themselves before our tired eyes, before being devoured by darker forces which lie ahead.

I am a spirit, one that has grown tired of this experience, one that longs to return to home – much like a worker at the end of a long, and invigorating workday. But I cannot return home, no, nor can I see it, instead I am forced here to fight against my will – with little to no room to breathe, little to no room to fill my lungs with air. Because I am trapped, and drugged by the very substances that run within this cell of mine, I have little to no recollection of what I have become throughout the many Advent’s I’ve existed, I have little to no recollection of that time I was sent here, no trace of memory of contracts which bound me to this damned paradigm, little to no sense of the true purpose behind all that happened, behind the day when all was washed away.

I am a spirit, I’ve worn many masks here, in this place, for unlike the cameras that dysfunction on my cell, my true eyes are open – where yours are not. You cannot perceive me, though it is not impossible for you to do so. Wise men will tell you that there is a spirit in all of us, wiser men will tell you that there is a cell with all of us, for the body’s we roam in now are nothing but cursed chains – chains which for us all to see the beauty of life through dimmer eyes, and darker skies.

I am a spirit, one that will finally return home once all of this ends. One that will soon bargain with whatever Lords have sent me here, one that will soon pave the way to my own Destiny, one that will shift the collective yet again – further from this treacherous state. I am a longing spirit, one with fleeting time, and one with a fragile life remaining, one that will soon seek out the only path that awaits at this time, one that will soon leave the light for good within this place, one that will erase the curse that exists in this reality.
